Have you tried a gym membership in the past? Have you worked with a trainer in the past? Usually it starts off pretty well. You plan to train Monday, Wednesday and Friday. You get in Monday and hit the gym, maybe 20mins cardio and then round the various weight machines. It feels great, you have a great workout and then head home. You get to Wednesday and your body feel terrible, DOMS (delayed onset muscle soreness) has kicked in. It feels like you were hit by a bus. You try to get another workout in but your body doesn't respond in the way you are hoping for. Your session isn't as good as you planned but at least you got there. By Friday your body is aching, work has gone crazy and the girls are heading out for a couple of cocktails after work. You can't face another unproductive session so you head out for a well deserved night off figuring you can start again Monday.
I understand this vicious cycle. I spent years doing something similar. Sometimes I would manage to stick to a programme or plan for longer but eventually I always found that it slipped. Sometimes I would get some good results but without the support of someone else I wasn't able to stick with it once results started to slow.
The best decision I made was to get myself a personal trainer. I signed up for twice a week and that made sure I got my sessions in. I was spending a decent chunk of money on it so I really wanted to make it worthwhile. I found it much easier to stick to my agreed nutrition changes now I had that external accountability and someone to talk to when I was finding it tough.
I work with people who want to make a positive change in their life. People like you!
If you are ready to work with a coach, are able to invest the time and money in your own personal change then I can help you. I can help you to really dig into why you want to make a change, what that will look and feel like when you achieve your goals. I can help to wade through all the conflicting advice out there to help design a programme that is right for you, that you can enjoy and that will get you the results you want. This process will not always be easy, so I will be here every step of the way to help keep you motivated when it gets tough. I'll help you work out which habits will have the biggest impact for you and how to embed them into daily life.
